Review: Stages of Grace by Carey Heywood

Well, a slight detour from In Flight.. I wanted to read something a bit different for me.. A  not so Spicy book, but rather a emotion twisting book!!

Stages of Grace by Carey Heywood

I will admit the first chapter was really hard for me to get through and I put it down a few times because I kept getting frustrated with Grace (the main character) because she was letting her boyfriend (Jon) walk all over her and treat her horribly. And I don’t like DoorMats.. I like my women to have a backbone.  But then we got to the next chapter, I couldn’t put it down. Grace started standing up for herself and putting Jon in his place for being so rude to her.

Watching their relationship change and develop was really heart tugging for me. I’ve been in a relationship that became loveless like that so I just had to read where it was going. Were Jon & Grace going to be able to find what they’d lost? (I’m not telling you, you’ll have to read to find out)

Grace gets a letter from an unexpected person and this brings on HUGE Changes in her life..

Parts made me laugh, parts made my tear up, parts made me want to scream, but all in all.. Loved it.

I highly recommend picking up Stages of Grace by Carey Heywood!

(And as we all know I love my rough, touch and so naughty it’d make your girlfriends blush to read book, this however isn’t one of those, although there are a few steamy scenes.. there is plenty else to keep you interested in this book though!)

Upcoming Review: In Flight by R.K. Lilley

Ooh Another Book that I’ve read.. Oh who am I kidding . I’ve read EVERY book R.K. Lilley has out.. She is one of my FAVORITE authors.. But it’s been a few months since I read In Flight so I’m excited to get back to James..

Summary:

When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can’t seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.

Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.

Pre-law student Julia Campbell is fresh off a failed engagement and happy with her new independence. Even if she weren’t warned away from Brad at every turn, she’d know he was bad news. The last thing she needs is an older man who could destroy her job prospects, not to mention her innocence. But before she knows it, the incorrigible charmer has her under his spell. His deviant tastes plunge her deep into a forbidden world of sexual exploration…but her heart may not survive the fall.

This book contains explicit sex scenes, including a MFM ménage.

Review:

Blindfolded Innocence (Innocence, #1)Blindfolded Innocence by Alessandra Torre

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say I didn’t really know what to think jumping into this book. I hadn’t heard much of who the author is or seen her work before. The cover was semi interesting to me.. However, reading the summary and a few reviews, I decided to try it out.. And I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised.

I love the way the relationship between Brad and Julia develops little by little. I think Brad is more honest than most men would be about his indiscretions, but it makes him easier to like.

I must say their first encounter had me giggling because he mistook her for someone else.

Although Julia hasn’t been with many men, she is a tease and that means she isn’t afraid to say NO when she thinks she is just another notch to Brad.

I absolutely love when Julia lets us see her naughty side, especially at the strip club!! She is a good girl, with a wild streak and she doesn’t let Brad’s strong personality push her around and boy do I love a strong woman who can push back sometimes.

The naughty scenes are WHEW.. HOT..

I really can’t wait to read the second book as this book kinda… sorta.. just ended to me.. But it was a good ending never the less.. not so much as a cliffhanger as it seems like there should’ve been one more chapter to me..

I’d give it 8/10 Stars.

I’ve already read this book a few months ago, but to give it a proper review, I’m rereading it. And I will say that it was AWESOME. Better than I initially thought it was going to be!

Review: This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

This Man

Review for This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Summary:

Young interior designer Ava O’Shea has an appointment for a first consultation at The Manor with the owner, Mr Jesse Ward. She is expecting nothing more than an overweight, cravat wearing, well-to-do countryman, and on arrival, nothing would suggest otherwise. How wrong could she be? This Man is devastatingly handsome, charming and confident. He is also a conceited, hedonistic playboy, who knows no boundaries. Ava desperately does not want to be attracted to him, but she can’t control the overwhelming affect he has on her. Every instinct is telling her to run, so she does, but Jesse Ward is not so willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her. She knows she is heading for heartbreak, but how can she run when he won’t let her?

Review:

I have to say this has been one of the first books I’ve read in a while that has made me really want to just keep flipping the pages.. What is The Manor? What is the Scar from? How Old is Jessie? There is so many things that kept me flipping page to page but without giving too much away, it’s an excellent read.

I love that Eva challenges Jessie. She isn’t always a pushover that lets him have his way. She shows her independence even knowing that Jessie might/will get upset with her. I love a strong heroine who isn’t afraid to push to get her way through the ups and downs of love and a relationship..

Must say sometimes the British terms for things threw me a bit. But not enough that I was put off from it.

CLIFF HANGER.. I will most certainly be picking up book #2 as soon as I can..

Oh and SUPER hot naughty scenes.. Hope #2 includes some of what is hinted at in this book!!
